Bonfire
Next Bonfire: April 2012 (Date and time to be determined)
Thank you to all that attended the 1/28 bonfire. It was a great success!
Static kicked off programs for Peninsula suicide-bereaved high school students with a Bonfire on September 10th, 2011. We played games, jammed as our peers played original music, made s’mores and some new friends, and had a ol’ fashioned good time around the bonfire.
Since then we’ve launched our school year Teen Advisory Board (comprised of driven, self-aware and compassionate high schoolers) and piloted our first small group – songwriting and poetry workshops. We also had another bonfire on 1/28 where we again had peers perform original music and all enjoyed one another as we played games and had a blast. However, at this bonfire Palo Alto Online did an exclusive interview with the Founder & CEO Jade Chamness and filmed parts of the event (See above).
This April we’ll host another bonfire to celebrate the incredible, dedicated, and resilient teens involved with our Peninsula community, and invite more teens to be a part of our movement. We are dedicated to improving the support and resources for suicide-bereaved teens, and educating people in our community about the unique needs of teen suicide survivors.
Invite your friends, your teammates, your siblings. And if you’re parents want to come by to see what we’re all about, that’s great too!
Our motto: “We believe we’re better when we’re together.”
We hope to see you at the next Bonfire!
